I upgrade too, and i have this problem too. The correction 1) uninstall nvidia driver 2) reboot in fallbak mode 3) start failsafeX 4) choose the configure grafics 5) coose set default settings 6) reboot 7) synaptic referesh and install updates 8) install nvidia driver 9) reboot and enjoy ;)
