This is not good for the radeon driver guys as the RS690M is a common chip-set in a lot of netbooks ... the target audience of Unity in Ubuntu 11.4. A lot of netbook users will be unable to use Unity next week on go live! FYI I have just pulled the latest unstable branch of the radeon xorg driver and recompiled .... still no fix.
