A show desktop icon on unity launcher by default will solve the problem
to some extent as it will minimize all active windows in one click and
bring focus on a clean desktop. There is a keyboard shortcut alt+ctrl+d
that does the same thing but not everyone is used to keyboard shortcuts.
But this is not ideal solution if one wants to minimize one/multiple
instances of only one app (e.g nautilus) and not all.
