Just having another look at this to refresh my memory. I've gotten so used to using Alt + SysReq + K that I needed to check more closely.
There is now an option to; Switch from ubuntu. But it doesn't work :^( It returns me to the login screen but changing DE's does nothing - or at least not going to classic w/o effects. Even after selecting classic w/o effects I get Unity. Although using Alt + SysReq + K works as expected. I hope that's helpful. I'll try to follow up in case you want me to file a new bug report about "Switch from ubuntu" not working properly. BTW I'm using the actual Beta 2 i386 CD. now wishing I'd checked out the daily.
