Changing it to "Digital Stereo (HDMI) nr 4 Output" seems to work. I'm getting sound from the monitor now. Thanks!
I noticed those other channels yesterday, but after clicking "Test Speakers" (crashing Sound Preferences) they disappeared the next time I opened Sound Preferences.
