** Summary changed:

- Vlc captures arrow keys even when not in focus
+ Global shortcuts are not cleared before restart

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: vlc

  Steps to reproduce
  ===============
- 0. Configure vlc to use left and right arrow (mine jumps backward with left,
forward with right, seeks futher back with down and forward with up)
- 1. Launch gnome-terminal
- 2. Launch vlc playing a video
- 3. Focus the terminal
- 4. Write text, try to move left and right, up and down
+ 1. Configure vlc to use left and right arrow to seek, set them global.
Restart vlc, clear the global bindings, leaving the local bindings.
+ 2. Launch gnome-terminal
+ 3. Launch vlc playing a video
+ 4. Focus the terminal
+ 5. Write text, try to move left and right, up and down

  What happens
  ===========
- The left and right arrows seek the video, even when the focus is on terminal.
All other keys, including up and down arrows go to the terminal properly.
+ The left and right arrows seek the video, even when the focus is on terminal,
i.e. the global bindings are not cleared.

  What should happen
  ================
  Left and right arrow should move the cursor in terminal.
+
+ Workaround
+ ==========
+ Restart the vlc in addition to saving the shortcut settings
