This is actually the same as bug #39482 and they need to be merged. The root of the two observed behaviors is the same. I have sent a patch upstream but it was argued that it might incur too much overhead and was thus rejected. I had intentions to work on this, but currently lacking some time and need to attend to other stuff. Upstream would welcome something along the lines he's described.
