@rj: I agree with Phillip. I think this bug is caused by an unusual
number of heads per track. Newer OS like Windows 7 try to optimize
track/head/sector numbers depending on the media (4GB flash in your
case). Try to format your stick with WinXP or Linux<=2.6.35 (Lucid or
older).
