@Sam: I read your comment from the Redhat bug report. There's nothing I can do for that report since I don't even have (and I'm not willing to have) a username to their bug tracker. Anyway, I tested this in Unity (Maverick UNE) and it didn't work but even the manual screen locking with Ctrl+Alt+L does not work reliably.
