OK, I just updated to 3.8.4 and window placement seems to be fixed. That
is the CCSM plugin "Place Windows" can now successfully open windows to
fixed workspaces, something that had stopped working after 3.8.2, IDK
why.

However, the "Window Rules" plugin is still broken. It is a plugin that
is not enabled by default and when you try to enable it 1) Compiz/Unity
crashes, 2) the set rules do not work. I'm trying to use the "Sticky"
rule.

It is very easily reproducible for me: Just click enable check button
for the "Window Rules" plugin and watch it crash. After that, it acts
like its enabled but if you set any rule, it does not work. If you try
to disable the plugin, watch it crash again.

Again, both plugins worked before 3.8.2. "Place Windows" plugin was
recovered after 3.8.4 but "Window Rules" plugin is still broken after
3.8.4.
