I am seeing this problem as well with the same printer (Samsung ML-2250). I haven't tried the PCL-5e driver yet -- will try it first chance I get. I have been using this printer for several years now and my recollection is that this problem started appearing in more recent Ubuntu releases (10.04 and 10.10).
