Public bug reported:

The Live CD runs fine, but when I go to install, the partition manager lists my
2 IDE HDs as SCSIs. After install the system won't boot and hangs at the
Ubuntu splash.
I can boot in recovery mode and then start X. If go into hardware information
to see how the drives are listed, the device manager starts briefly, then
vanishes.
