Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem-mozilla

totem-mozilla (dynamic link problem)

System: Ubuntu Feisty Fawn Beta (clean install)

Software: totem-gstreamer (totem-mozilla-plugin)

Codecs: All gstreamer0.10-plugins installed (base, base-apps, good, bad,
bad-multiverse, ugly, ugly-multiverse, ffmpeg)

- Website:
www.sportradio.ch (we want to listen to a 'résumé' of a football game)

- stream
mms://static.stream.green.ch/sportradio/sportart/ (this is the link
totem-mozilla opens)

When I open the stream via the website and the totem-mozilla-plugin the
plugin gets loaded and then... nothing. So I open the link in totem
(right mouse click). As result I get an error message saying 'Could not
open location; you may not have permission to open the file'.

In this case I realized, that totem-mozilla is not able to open the kind
of dynamic link, the www.sportradio.ch website is using. In fact,
clicking on the link first opens some kind of sponsoring message. Then
another dynamic link is opened with the 'résumé' you want to listen to
(experiences made with mplayer).

The link to the sponsoring messsage would be
'mms://static.stream.green.ch/sportradio/sponsoren/TRAILERSHAMI.wma'.
Guess what. totem-gstreamer is capable to play that link without
problems. I don't know why the totem-mozilla-plugin wants to open
'mms://static.stream.green.ch/sportradio/sportart/'.

I get the fallowing console output of totem:

Could not read packet header: Success
Could not read packet header: Success

(totem:6179): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to add
`mms://static.stream.green.ch/sportradio/sportart/' to the list of recently
used resources, but not MIME type was defined
** Message: Error: Could not connect to this stream
gstmms.c(317): gst_mms_start (): /play/source

That's all folks
