Exactly the same experience as #5, on a Lenovo N100 with new Natty ALPHA3, 32-bit installation.
STA driver recognized and installed driver for B4311 but no light and no wireless signals detected. Removed the STA driver, installed firmware-b43-installer and b43-fwcutter via synaptic.
