It looks like LRN wasn't quite sure what was supposed to happen when start_time was defined. In this case, start_time is set to 0 instead of the "undefined" value. I think it should probably be changed to check for a non-zero start time in addition to the existing check.

You could check your PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variables to make sure /usr/local/* comes before the /usr/* fellas. Or just uninstall the FFmpeg HEAD stuff as you suggested.
