I can reproduce this with the Feisty 7.04 Beta i386 CD and an updated hard disk installation. I'm using a simple desktop box with one network card. My network has a DHCP server. When the box comes up, ifconfig reveals that the network card has no IP address. I can resolve this manually by running
/etc/init.d/networking restart However, I should not have to do this every time I boot! This problem is pretty serious for those of us with a DHCP server on our networks (which is anyone with an ADSL modem router these days). I think this problem has little to do with knetworkmanager and lots to do with NetworkManager and avahi-autoipd and avahi-daemon. My /etc/network/interfaces : auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp auto eth1 iface eth1 inet dhcp auto eth2 iface eth2 inet dhcp auto ath0 iface ath0 inet dhcp auto wlan0 iface wlan0 inet dhcp -- dhcp not working automatically in feisty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/94071 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for knetworkmanager in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
