Yepper, I'd like to make the FFmpeg lib detection much simpler as well. I'll look into it RSN. > Your speed difference using faac between M4A and other exports is nearly 3x. HAHAHA...that's funny! I didn't even notice that, so I guess there is some truth to the "3 - 4 times" speed difference. > Those differences between Audacity CLI and GUI for M4A and MP3 on Windows, and > in the other direction on Ubuntu between Audacity CLI and GUI for M4A don't > look "expected" or "reasonable" to me? > I thought the same thing. I wouldn't expect them to be THAT different. Maybe a little, but not that much. I just tried it on the Mac and it was within a second or two. > I don't think we can do anything about 4) - importing mono as stereo? Unfortunately, we still need to explain it since, at least on the Mac, Audacity built without the 0.6.1 support patch imports those mono files as mono. :-( I've banged my head against the wall on this several times now and haven't figured out why. But, I haven't given up yet. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/602934 Title: ffmpeg import/export not working with ffmpeg version in maverick -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
