Sorry, I have never used Launchpad or the bug center so I hope I'm right here.
I have exactly the same problem "Banshee windows opens but stays gray and unresponsive while the CPU peaks at 100%." with Banshee 1.81. and Ubuntu 10.10. The problem just occured today and may have to do with the fact that I rebooted the computer without closing banshee. I can't help it, I deleted banshee (backed my db before), reinstalled, problem stays. Is there a known way to deal with the problem.
