I think the root problem was when I used the automatic system to upgrade from Lucid to Maverick. I don't think it updated the /etc/apt/sources.list correctly. In the file there was only one entry for 'maverick' deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu maverick main universe restricted multiverse So I manually added deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu maverick-security main universe restricted multiverse And everything is now good. After a lot of new updates where done on a system I thought was fully up to date. Do those entries look good to you? Should I see about summiting another bug report?
