Public bug reported: After my computer has been on for a while (it seems to be time-related), apparently randomly, all root processes will hang. My internet connection, managed my NetworkManager, drops, my System Monitor tray applet hangs, and any command I try to run with sudo just hangs, with no further output. Neither Ctrl-C nor Ctrl-D works at this hung sudo. Any non-root processes work fine, on the other hand. The rest of my desktop is usable, and any non-sudo commands run fine.
Ubuntu Feisty Fawn, currently running kernel 2.6.20-15, but I think the problem started around 2.6.20-11, or -9, or somewhere around there. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Tags: feisty root ubuntu ** Description changed: - After my computer has been on for a while, apparently randomly, all root - processes will hang.
