Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center
Under Maverick, I could connect my Acer (AOA150) netbook (1024x600) to a 1024x768 monitor and use gnome-display-properties to turn the netbook screen off and use the monitor at full resolution. With Natty Alpha 3, the same procedure gives me what appears to be a 1024x600 image of the screen (desktop, decorations, background apps), pinned to the bottom of the screen, leaving the top 1/4 of the monitor blank. However, the visuals that are displayed only appear to respond...in part...to mouse clicks on the part of the screen they should appear at. For example, the Monitors applet displays a visual change when I click on a blank spot about 2 inches above it, but does not respond when clicked on directory. This worked under both metacity and mutter using Maverick. During installation (or just after the first boot) (with both monitors running) I received a message saying that there was not enough memory for Compiz to do something, but I cannot remember the exact text.
