Just to clarify -- In Maverick, Xorg was working (well enough), with compositing, with KMS off (and only with KMS off). Now, compositing doesn't work with KMS off.
If I turn KMS on, compositing does work, but the amount of cross-program graphics corruption makes the system unusable, both with Maverick and with Natty. However, there is corruption either way, whether or not KMS is running, and regardless of whether or not compositing is working. There is simply a workable amount of corruption when KMS is disabled. I guess the point of this particular bug is: KMS now seems to be required for compositing to work. Is that a bug, or intentional? If it is intentional, then this bug can be closed as invalid. The corruption issue is open elsewhere. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/729386 Title: [Natty] DRI2 fails with x1200, compositing broken -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
