I don't think this is a dupe of bug 716811.  That bug seems to have been
fixed before kernel 2.6.38-5 was released, and I'm having the above
symptoms on my non-Sandy-Bridge i980x system.

I get the kernel oops consistently, and it has the weird side-effect of
hanging any shell where I try to do an ls of a local NTFS (that's not a
typo) drive.  Removing the nfs-kernel-server module makes the oops go
away and the NTFS volume works as expected again.
