@Aspera, Sorry for the delay in replying... miroslav's solution didnt work for me... In fact I had done exactly what you are saying in #75. The freezing is now reduced to almost twice/thrice a day.
But it has started another problem (I dont know whether I have messed up some other files also!!!). Also I dont know whether they are related!!! The machine get very hot. The CPU temp goes close to 75C... I have observed that most of the freezing occurs when the temp goes very high. I am generally doing a regular work on the machine (mainly usual internet browsing (without much of java or flash) or dealing with text files.)
