My problem is a little different. I don't know if it is related. The state in /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID/state is ALWAYS correct.
However, after I close the lid for the first time and open it again, the gnome-power-manager always says: "lid is closed, so we are ignoring ->NORMAL state changes" (but the lid is open) If I reboot or hibernate, everything goes back to the normal.
