Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution-mapi
I'm using evolution-mapi to be able to send/receive messages throug our Exchange server. Everythings work fine regarding send/receive when the names of the recipients are ascii-only letters (i.e. "Peter English <pengl...@example.com>". However, when trying to send e-mails to someone who has non-ascii-only letters in his name (i.e. "Juan Súrnäme <jsurn...@example.com>"), the message stucks in the local Outbox folder and there's only an error in evolution status bar with the text "error while sending message...". If I click in the error the expanded explanation is not very explanatory: "Error while sending message. Could not send message". There's no additional output neither in the terminal from which evolution has been launched. Note that even removing autoexpand (that is: changing the proposed "Juan Súrnäme <jsurn...@example.com>" obtained from the Global Address List to "jsurn...@example.com") the problem is still present. Receiving e-mail messages from those addresses works OK. The only workaround I've found so far is to create an SMTP send-only account (fortunately or Exchange server has SMTP enabled) and send messages using SMTP whenever some of the receivers have some áéíóú etc. letters in his/her name.
