I looked at this topic a couple of weeks ago,I haven't noticed it for some time, but I had a gap not using Gwibber for a longer period (temporary switch to KDE.) The issue looks related to some older version of Gwibber. Also at the time of this bug I did ran development versions, so that may be part of the issue. This bug was real and reproducable. We were close to pointing at the location of it. There were never many people affected by the bug. I don't see any need for keeping this bug open.
