I have faced this issue myself with some raid controllers. It seems that those 
affected are the ones that, when you name them, have a fixed amount of 
characters. So if you name it main, it will be mapped as /dev/mapper/asr_main\ 
\ \ \ ... You can see it trough the console with the tab key (just open an 
alternative tty).
Hence I do believe that the installer is forgetting those spaces when trying to 
stat.
The workaround from my experience is to name the array using all characters 
available.
