I've found a hack to get this working. The file: /var/lib/alsa/asound.state
has two important fields set to false: name 'HeadsetL Mixer Voice' name 'HeadsetR Mixer AudioR1' when I manually edited the file and then ran "alsactl restore" I was able to get sound working. I'm not sure why the default file is generated incorrectly and why I couldn't enable this using the alsamixer GUI -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/711008 Title: sound not playing on overo -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
