Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
I've no idea why I can' upgrade. I get the message: " Could not calculate the upgrade An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade: E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages. This can be caused by: * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu If none of this applies, then please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bug report. " I've checked and there are no unofficial channels even listed in my system. After this failed the first time I went through and un-installed all KDE and XFCE application and then ran the computer janitor to clean up the leftovers. There is no special hurry to upgrade this machine so let's see if we can find the cause before I do a clean install.
