Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-datetime
Bug #601974 discusses how to enable displaying the date and day in the
datetime applet. While dconf-editor still has entries for
/apps/indicators/datetime (show-date, show-day and show-seconds), and
they are checked, they no longer work. I don't know the precise version
that introduced the issue, but I believe it is the 0.1.92 series.
