Right. I've observed this behaviour as well using my x200s with 64-bit
lucid. Fan speed goes to around 3700 rpm and doesn't come back down when
the CPU goes back to idling.

Then I read the above post and updated to 10.10 - but no change
whatsoever. Got frustrated and reinstalled 10.04, and experimented with
everything I could think to experiment with... not much luck though.
Since it was mentioned above, I decided to check my embedded controller
firmware, but yeah, 1.06.

Then I got patient and installed the gnome sensor applet... and watched
and watched. My fan speed does actually go down, but it takes quite
awhile of idling. I assume we have been assuming that the fan would
basically follow the CPU temps, yeah? I'm thinking the problem rather
follows the Mini-PCI temps. The wifi card seems to like to settle
somewhere over 50 with traffic, and it takes a bloody LONG time to cool.
But once it does, the fan seems to settle back down. Anyone confirm my
suspicion?
