I'm not sure what you mean by scanning. If you mean being able to see the available networks around me, that works fine. The problem is that I can't seem to connect to any of them, except via the command line. That being said, 1.4.2 is the last version provided by IBM (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-40236.html). To be honest, the idea of putting firmware from a different vendor scares the heck out of me, since such things can turn previously working hardware into a brick. That being said. it seems the A30/p, A31/p, T23, X22, X23, and X24 all use the same firmware, and people with these other models have had success, so I think I'll give it a try. I should mention though that the wireless used to work fine under windows, with this firmware, though who knows what they were doing differently to work around whatever bug (assuming it's a bug) there was in the firmware. That's a pretty big list of models though, and I'm not sure how many of them would be willing to install random firmwares to get their wireless to work. It does work in certain cases, after all. I'll give the upgrade a shot though, and report back what changes there are, if any.
