I've looked through the log file and I don't really see any signs of trouble. It looks like Shotwell was importing photos from 8:14 until 8:48. Then there are 10 minutes of silence in the log file and after that, at 8:58, Shotwell reported that a camera was detected.
Did Shotwell hang during this import and, if so, do you know when? Was it hung from 8:48-8:58 and then it woke up after that?
