** Description changed:

- I use dapper 6.06. After installing the latest updates on 5.aug.06,
- problems arose with booting and USB. Having a device (keyboard, mouse
- etc) connected to any of the USB ports, the system boot halts at
- "mounting root file system". Also, when connecting a USB device during
- the booting process or when ubuntu is already running, everything stops
- to respond.

+ Did a little research in forums and found that the conflict between
+ newer Kernel and USB has been reported also by others. What helps is to
+ disable legacy usb in BIOS - then 2.6.15.23, -24, -25 boot fine and
+ won't freeze afterwards either. However, then you can't choose between
+ OSs before booting. So, anyway, you need a ps/2 keyboard with the new
+ Kernel. Everything worked fine with Kernel 2.4.x installed (and legacy
+ usb disabled), both XP and DapperDrake 6.06 recognized usb keyboard
+ during the boot as well as when running, and the OSs could be chosen
+ beforehand. I cannot but dub Thee BUG! :)
