Verified that the issue still occurs with 2.6.38rc2 (By updating a 10.10 install to the mainline 2.6.38rc2 kernel, and then attempting to update to natty)... It currently says that it will take 11 hours to complete the update (This may be somewhat worse than the estimated time for 2.6.35, although I've not given it as long to settle, so I can't confirm that..
