After a bit of googling, I found this forumpost:

And this worked for me, both the internal mic and the speakers work
perfectly.

What I did was:
I downloaded the latest Alsa drivers from here: 
http://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/tiwai/alsa/alsa-driver/
The 20110128 is the latest of the time writing.

Untarred them
Then: 
./configure
make
sudo make install-modules

Lastly I added 
options snd_hda_intel model=hp

at the end of the of the file
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

reboot, and this did the trick.
