Public bug reported:

Ubuntu: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Alsa-base: 1.0.22.1+dfsg-0ubuntu3 0

I'm running Lucid on a HP Mini 110-3101sd, and am having the problem that I can
hear sound through the headphones, but when I unplug the headphones I don hear
sound through the speakers.
The soundcard seems to be recognized fine.

sudo lspci -v gives me this:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation N10/ICH 7 Family High Definition Audio
Controller (rev 02)
        Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device 148a
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16
        Memory at 54200000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 2
Capabilities: [60] Message Signalled Interrupts: Mask- 64bit+ Queue=0/0

        Capabilities: [100] Virtual Channel <?>
Capabilities: [130] Root Complex Link <?>
Kernel driver in use: HDA Intel
        Kernel modules: snd-hda-intel

I've tried adding all sorts of things at the end of /etc/modprobe.d
/alsa-base.conf (like 'options snd-hda-intel model=laptop', or
model=mobile), but that doesn change anything.

What could I try next, or supply as information?

Thanks.
