Seems like this is an issue with the driver rather than wpasupplicant --
looks like it only really happens after you disable and re-enable
networking/wifi:

wpa_supplicant[970]: Association request to the driver failed

Can you confirm this? If so, then this bug report should be assigned to
the 'linux' package instead. Thanks!
