I seem to have a similar problem. My hardware setup is similar in having an AMD Phenom II (X6 though), ALC892 onboard sound, and an (unused) HDMI Audio interface on an ATI Radeon. Software is also Ubuntu 10.10/amd64. I only have one harddrive, though, and copying several GB + having Rhythmbox playing doesn't give me any hiccups. On the other hand, I get "lagging" and/or stuttering sound with 3D games (ID tech based - Urban Terror, Doom 3) and stuttering sound on Flash videos. Sound quality for Flash Videos seems to get better when the Video is fully loaded, but the problem is not completely gone.
Not quite sure, whether this is the same bug, but seeing the similar hardware setup I'm inclined to think there may the the same root issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/668129 Title: [Realtek ALC892] Audio skips with intensive i/o like copying files -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
