Well, then don't call it a fix, call it workaround or whatevever. The
fact is that for the common people it solves the issue. Maybe it's not
the right way, but unfortunately is the closest thing to a solution,
people are going to get most of the times in situations like this.

Of course I had the intention to contact the website owner. But note that in my 
case, the problem is not with a particular website. It's one of the biggest 
communication groups in Spain, owning a number of regional newspapers, all 
their respective webs having the same exact behavior.
They certainly already know about it anyway, because I have found a number of 
threads in different forums all pointing to the same issue with different webs 
of this group.
But the fact that this issue only affects a particular version of a particular 
browser in one particular linux distribution, while every other browser and 
even the exact same browser version in every other linux distribution and 
platform works OK, certainly won't help to get it fixed in the website side 
(assuming they know how to fix it).
Also, as I have pointed out, the same problem happens for others too, in other 
unrelated webs.

Thanks for your time anyway. I only filed a bug because I was suggested
to do so in the answers section.
