The bug I reported earlier (#704810), marked as duplicate by Charlie is of a higher importance: dataloss!!!
The only workaround is to only trust and use native .abw or MS .doc converter. MS Office docs created with Abiword are fully compatible with OOo. In my case only the first page, before the manual page-break, could be saved on opening the abiword-created odt back into abiword after OOo failed to fix any of the corrupted file. I'm trying to reproduce it with a newly created file to pinpoint if this comes from the way abiword saves the page-break in the odt format or if this comes from other factors (preset numbered headlines, underlining these, combination of several factors). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/591503 Title: odt created by abiword can't be opened by openOffice -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
