You have a duplicate item on your source list.  Not the cause of the
problem but still you may want to correct it.

Ok try this:

1)  sudo apt-get remove update-manager
2)  rm -rf ~/.gconf/apps/update-manager
3)  rm -rf ~/.cache/update-manager-core
4)  sudo rm -f /usr/share/gconf/schemas/update-manager.schemas
5)  sudo rm -f /usr/share/gconf/schemas/update-notifier.schemas

Then install a fresh update-manager:

6)  sudo apt-get install update-manager | tee ~/Desktop/UD-Manager-
Install

Then post the file, that is output to your desktop, to your next post.
