Ok found it: $ md5sum /etc/init.d/networking db7e515f04f04f54708b5ea862585c31 /etc/init.d/networking # This seems correct
But you are right initctl is not installed! upstart is installed but I don't know what happened to initctl! I installed some additional packages after the installation but I am not sure if anyone of them deleted this file. I reinstalled upstart and now everything is back to normal. Despite your pessimism the system was pretty usable even with out the initctl script. Very peculiar! In any case thanks for the support! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/691470 Title: /etc/network/if-up.d/upstart: 13: initctl: not found -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
