I'm having the same problem. I am almost upset that I can't use Ubuntu on this laptop. My problem seems to be far worst than most though, this laptop is brand new (literally weeks old) and the trackpad in this Sony VAIO E Series VPCEB3C5E doesn't work at all. Nothing. No motion, no vertical/horizontal scrolling, not even the buttons. I really hope this gets solved, as I love Ubuntu much more than windows, but I can't stand not having a functional trackpad to work with.
