Ran Kubuntu for about a week, was trying to load Ubuntu to see if it might resolve some display and sound issues Kubuntu was giving me - suddenly only the BIOS message and a madly spinning fan... I've had a dead laptop for a month. Tried all kinds of BIOS/CMOS resets, saw some repair guys: nothing...
