Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. An alert sign appeared on top bar of the
screen. A message translated from Finnish: "An error has occurred, run
package handling application in the menu under the right button or in
apt-get-program screen to find out what's wrong. [the error message as
below] Usually this means that packages you've installed are dependent
on other packages that have not been installed.

When I run the "package handling application", the bug alert says in
Finnish:

Pakettitietoja ei voitu alustaa

Pakettitietoja alustettaessa tapahtui virhe jota ei voitu korjata.

Ilmoita tästä virheraportilla paketille "update-manager", ja sisällytä
raporttiin seuraava virheviesti:

'E:Tyyppi "‘deb" on tuntematon rivillä 54 lähdeluettelossa
/etc/apt/sources.list, E:Lähteiden luetteloa ei pystynyt lukemaan.'

I am sure this is the problem but it is hard to handle at least by
removing the application packages causing the problem (most likely TOR,
Privoxy or Vidalia) when the installed application list doesn't show any
application but is stuck in updating the view.

help would be nice.
