One thing that persists is the difference in working shows; "audio stream 1" and non-working; shows "audio stream 0" (assuming this is just stating the obvious) As a reduct with lspci 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio (rev 05) Once again good work to those unsung open source heroes.
