@Eric: 2.6.34.7 isn't older than 2.6.35-rc1 and actually there don't
seem to be any more important code changes in iwl3945 driver. I haven't
tested unencrypted connections because I can't allow them in my
environment.

@Jonathan: Yes, they actually suggested it for a guy that has problems
with setting up the device but they also see a connection between that
and our problem.


I think it really might be wpa_supplicant. In Gentoo I have 0.7.2 with their 
further patches. There is also a stock 0.6.10 available in Portage tree so I'll 
try it later.

Could you please try 0.7.x in Ubuntu/Fedora?
