I'll put together a fresh build and give it another shot.  I'm fairly
certain I've run into it on all of my maverick systems.  My main system,
not one running in a vm or via netboot, is currently reporting the
issue.  It may be because the system was upgraded rather than a clean
install.  I'll build a new vm tomorrow and report back.
